mzex
in attachment are two pics made in VRay 1.47.03. Both has the same material and the same rendering settings. The only difference is that first scene contains plane with apllied tanslucency material, while second has box with same material. Box is 0,5 cm thick. material used here has no refract and no reflactions. translucency is turned on with thickness set to 1000, light multiplier is 1, scatter is 0 and fwd/bck is 1. Why those three strips behind object (VRay lights with multi=1) are not visible if I put box in the scene? I tried to change thickness for box but results were the same. Tyorl
I think it is all because box has a volume and plane is zero-volume. So as Vray trying to be physical correct it renders volume inside the box.
Guest nazcaLine
i tried to use the translucency option in vray mat for some lamps but I never SEE ANY TRANSLUCENCY AT ALL.i tried different settings but nothin'. at the end i just use a standard material with self illumination map. Tyorl
Please refer to Vray help For transluensy started to work the color fog (and so do refreact value) shouldn't be a 255 on any of the RGB channel. It is much cheaper to use fog color only, but u need some time to play with it.
