Sketchrender
Hi Can somebody put me out of my misery, and tell me if it is possible to render in passes, and is it worth doing . And How do you compose them afterwords, I presume with layers in photoshop, but .....how. Many thanks phil
Craig Ramsay
You can do it with V-ray 1.46.x and then coposit them in photoshop, after effects, combustion etc.
ShaunDon
Hey Philip. Check out the VRay manual under G-Buffer and Color Mapping Examples. Vlado demonstrates what the various passes consist of and shows how they're composited. If you select the G-Buffer channels that you want in the VRay settings and set under the VRay Frame Buffer settings where to save the passes, it works well. With 1.47.03 I hear it even works with DR. I've yet to use it for a project -- I'm still experimenting myself as to the feasibility and benefits. Good luck! Shaun

ShaunDon
Chris Nichols posted an awesome tutorial in the VRay forum that shows very elegantly how to recombine g-buffer layers into a finished frame. I can't wait till I'm this smart, woohoo! http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13818&highlight=&sid=65dcc7fefdc23bdb86e9104904b6d449 Shaun
