ealtman
I'm having a strange problem with the map I'm using for my carpet. I'm getting these weird white stripes in the distance that are not appearing closer to the camera. I've triple-checked my map and it's seamless (as witnessed by the near carpet). Has anyone come across problems like this before? I've attached a progress image showing what's happening. -Emlyn
darkblue_wire
Hi you may apply uvw map modifier then adjust it to face you can do some changes for the other parameters & while that show the material over the face you want to map from the map box (show materials ) so that you could watch it while applying modifier best regards
ealtman
Thanks for the suggestion, Darkblue. Face won't work with this geometry as the shape of the carpet object is irregular. If I used the face map, it would base the pattern on the polygons, not on the object as a whole. The image I previously posted encorporated a UVW map parameter using a regular planar map. After your posting, I tried switching from an explicit map channel to a planar map from object XYZ. That didn't help either. I have no clue where it's even getting white for the stripes and why it's only happening in the distance. I will add that I tried putting a subdivide modifier on the object before the UVW map. That didn't help either. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. . .
