The material appears fine in the editor, however when rendered it is both blured and seem to have ignored the bump map. Can anyone help please. Thanks. So my suggestions are - check UVW mapping it should be box, check bitmap channels (and so do in your UVW) and the last one see Vray General menu, there should be bump checked(may be in the latest versions). Christopher Nichols Posted December 13, 2005 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Don't be embarassed... valid issue. The issue I would say is the AA. When dealing with high contrast small detail textures like brick or grids or anthing with fine lines, try to not use adaptive aa, and use two level.... also, you may want to check the bitmap filtering. While the higher res render solved your issue since your texture was expanded to a size where you no longer had issues, these issues can come up again, so it is always good to know how to solve them. ShaunDon Posted December 13, 2005 Share Posted December 13, 2005 VRay also filters maps a lot more heavily than the standard scanline. Kind of a pain, but you get used to it. Change the blur setting in your brick map from 1.0 to 0.1, or even 0.01. Should sharpen up quite a bit. Shaun Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tim Nelson Posted December 13, 2005 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Yeah, I struggled with bitmap filtering for a while until I learned that Vray blurs them out a lot more than scanline.
