Tim Saunders
this is a "just for fun" project i'm doing at nights at home. still really early in my plans. i plan to add lots of clutter as this is intended to represent a game room in a resedence. i also plan to add more seating, more lighting reflecting below, people, baseboard, crown molding, and just stuff. i just thought i would see what anyone thought so far. i think my balls are too big too. it's a full size table as far as i know, but i'll have to double check my dimensions on that. Jonathan Sanchez
I like it. Your balls are kind of big :-) I like the overall feeling. Maybe increasing the shinines just a bit of pool table wood? Most the ones I seen are pretty shiny or glossy. Maybe just my imagination though. What prog u using? bully712
i think my balls are too big too. it's a full size table as far as i know, but i'll have to double check my dimensions on that. Being a pool player, I always enjoy seeing gamerooms. If it's a 9' table, then the ball are too big. Just taking a visual reference off of my ruler, I do beleive pool balls are around 2.5" Dia. This is just a guess. Looking forward to updates.
Crazy Homeless Guy
are the balls different sizes...??
Tim Saunders
the balls i used are 2.75" the table i intended is an 8' table, but i may have hurried so fast that that ended up being an outer dimension. it does look like a mini table. and i'll shrink down the balls a tad. thanks for the thought so far. i'll post more in a couple days. oh and i'm using viz05/vrayfree. Tim Saunders
You should make that your signature. well in most places it is my signature. i have been trying to get rid of the tag-line for years, but once word gets out....

Lhanh29
Good working! i'm also looking forward your rendering update.
Tim Saunders
didn't do much. resized the table and balls. took a couple about an hour to make the que stick textures and the rack. i'm not all that happy with the que rack though. i'll change that today, and hopefully add some more furniture and shelves. Derek Youssi
The porportions of things look off to me. The tops of the chairs almost go as high as the bottom of the pool table lights. The table and chairs seem very large in porportion to the pool table. The rim of the pool table (the wood that surrounds the playing area) seems very thick in comparison to the actual playing area. Is this a regulation size table or pay table size?
Tim Saunders
thanks derek. i was about to finish things up on this, but you caused me to re-check a few porportions. the playing area is right on the pool, but for some reason the top edge closest to the camera got stretched in my modeling porccess. i also thought it would look better if i skooted the legs out to the sides more. as far as the tall stools and table, the table sits at 42 inches, which is pretty standard bar height if i remember. and the billiard lights are sitting right at 5'5", you can see that from the camera as the bottoms of the shades are straight to our view. it seams like every image i could find showed those lights real low like that, but i think i will bump it up 6". i rendered it last night without those changes and it looks pretty good, but i think that will improve it a lot. final should be posted in a couple days. bully712
The proportions of the pool table looks a lot better. The room needs something but I don’t know what to help out with the scale issue. I know you did it right, but something in my eyes is off. Do you have a wide angle lens on your camera? Oh and also, can you share the ies file you used for your lights?
