jtiscareno
Is there a way to make an image look "sketchy" in vray??? I am thinking of using the toon material but i want to get the lines to look like a sketch. thanks
Tim Saunders
other than the toon effect? are you able to use the vray frame buffer? (i can't in too complex of scenes). if you are, try rendering out the sub-pixel g-buffer channel. this channel gives a nice outline of all your geometry in the scene. def4d
I've never try the VrayEdgeTex Material, but it does what you ask!
Joelp
You can achieve some pretty sketchy results using the VRay Toon effect; it is implemented as a Atmospheric effect.

Tim Saunders
looks good joel. i've played with the toon just a little. how did you get the white negative though? did you assign a white material over everything?

It is just a VRayLightMtl placed on all of the geometry. No GI in the renderer.
jtiscareno
Joel that is great, the only thing is that I can not find the vray toon in my effects, I was reading that it is on the sdk2 disc, I need to ask out IT guy to look it up and install it. I was using the ink n' paint material from max and was getting sort of the same effect with not using any color on the paint side and just suing ink with also some maps added to it. Thanks for the tip I will try is as soon as I have it.
