Ernest Burden III
Fun with Vray and max8. Modeled and rendered over the weekend. Any thoughts? At first look its pleasing. But the background image needs more contrast, lower chroma. And the background reflects on the glass--but there is no reflection for the mullions--you would see their reflection blocking the BG reflection. Is your glass IOR correct, or did you matte that part in in post? The composition id good, the stairs keep things moving, even though you cut off the landing, there's some tension. Is your glass IOR correct, or did you matte that part in in post? I didn't use any IOR settings for the glass, but I'll try that. All of the reflections are just what vray/max kicked out. I didn't do anything to them. There are 2 different things going on with the windows. One is the mullion itself and the other is like a steel post about 6" from the glass. I'll also try adjusting the backround. thanks guys.
Tim Saunders
you didn't by chance just load the background image in the reflection slot did you? if you did, i think that over-rides any geometry in the scene that would be reflected. gfa2
Interesting comment Tim, but no I didn't override the reflections via the reflection environment override. I guess I'm not really seeing what you guys are seeing with a problem in the reflections. The chrome on the table and chair legs are reflecting the room, and the paint on the steps and the wood floor have a slight blurred reflection and they are reflecting the room not the backround. The glass walls are reflecting the opposite walls mullions and steel posts.
