Trevor Tizard
Hi All, I have recently completed my first exterior CGI with vray free and am very happy with the result (first image). This allowed me to then purchase the advanced version. After installing the advanced version the free no longer appeared in the "assign renderer" area. After opening the same file vray advanced was already assigned in place of the free version and had transfered the settings (environment etc.) However the image takes ages to render even at 640 x 480 and there is something strange happening to the shadows under the balconies (second image). Can anyone explain why this might be.........? What seetings do you need to know? Thanks.
chutti
Hey cant see the shadow problem...image is small. r u using raytrace on the relection slot of your glass materials? if u did...then replace it with vray map. maybe you can have a faster render. good luck.. BrianKitts
the short answer to "what setting do you need to know"..... would be ALL OF EM! (but not totally). A handful of the defaults for vray are over-set. i.e. 50 hemispherical subdivisons is far more then I ever use. I would suggest posting your setting and I'm sure you'll get some suggestions of what to change. biggest thing you need to post is what you are using for your primary and secondary bounces, and what the settings for those two drop-downs are.... hit the search enginges for some vray tutorials to learn to tweak your settings
