Real Feeling

Dear Group

This is my first WIP that I am submitting here. I wanted to get your opinion with regards to the realness of this rendering. I have my own comments to it. There are some rendering artifacts that should be addressed. I need to perfect the reflection of the appliances (a reflection study will be my next major personal project), and i know about the cream color material withinthe skylight (this is an old scene that I created 2 years ago. Since this is a personal render study rather than work for a client, I determined that it would be too much trouble to change this). I have other views that are currently rendering that I may post here at a later time. Thanks for all of the c&c.

Just an update. For these, I'll have to perfect the camera angle. This is my goal for future projects. Also, I have not "nailed" the reflection, particularly the mettalic appliances. I may experiment with normal maps to perturb the surface in the future. C&C are welcome.

Thanks

Marcus

Good working !Marcus!

But i would say you met some problem with material. The color you used in this project was not good soo much. It's seem like plastic and it was not related together.Just my opinion.Don't mind if i'm wrong !:) :) :)

Thanks for the comment. You are right, the metal material needs a lot of work. Its a real pain in the rear. The thing is, I went through multiple interations in experimenting with various specularities and roughnesses with a teapot scene that I created. These teapots look very metallic here but when the same parameters are applied to these appliances, they do not come off very convincing. Here is a same. Back to the drawing board I guess.

They look more plastic than metallic. Turn down the amount of reflection or add some dispersion in the reflectance to it to give it the fuzzy reflection. also add some noise to your bump channel to give it a little brushed texture. ( I use Cinema4D so I may not have the terms right but I believe all the programs have similar actions)

keep it up.
