Claudio Branch
I recently made a test animation using the camera correction modifier. The test is an architectural fly-through with the camera and it's target following a spline that changes slightly in elevation. The modifier applies a two point perspective to the camera, but as soon as the elevation changes, the modifier no longer holds the edges of the buildings at vertical. Any suggestions on how I can maintain the two-point perspective when the camera path changes elevation?
scarp8
The correction modifier can be animated... it's worth a try. Just key the first and last frames. Maybe a few in between. -Dave http://www.got3d.com
Claudio Branch
Thanks Dave, I gave it a shot and here is what I discovered: The spinners for the input fields on the camera correction modifier do not highlight in red when selecting key frames. Doesn't this mean they will not animate? I tried anyways but no affect. Claudio
ITryMyBest
the way i understand Max is that anything with a spinner can be animated. go to the first frame you want, then turn on animate. you may have to change the value to something else then change it back to get the red outline. then you should be able to animate the modifier as you go through the frames. SandmanNinja
I, too, thought that anything with a spinner could be animated. Maybe some MaxScript? Very weird. Have you stepped through those frames where the path changes elevations and observed the behaviour that you do not want?
BrianKitts
if you hold shift and right click on a spinner it will tell max to key that value. then just slide your timeline and adjust the spinner. I always leave the autokey on when I do this, not sure if it's necessary but always works.
