MegaPixel
Using MAX 8 - MR 3.4 I've come acrossed some random MR posts here and there that "touch" on photon and FG radius's but I'm still not really sure how to adjust these radius value's to work for any particular scene. I know that overall scene scale has something to do with it, but I don't think that's the whole picture. I currently leave the radius values to default which supposedly auto-calculates the sizes for best average performance. In doing this, I get "OK" results, but I'm really looking for more detail and performance out of my rendering now. Is there more of a "formulaic" approach to sizing your radius values to your scene to acheive best detail vs render time? noi-pi
For my part, I played with various settings starting with zero value up to sumthin like 4 or 5. But I found 2.0 value suited for all of my scene be it interior or exterior with Meters as a unit scale. If I leave it as a default value rendertimes quite high compared to 2.0 value which gives more or less the same output.
