Hi all;

Iv heard alot of hype about sketch and toon and how diverse

and powerfull a tool it is, but as of yet, hav'nt seen any examples

of mind blowing work. I need to see some examples of finished work

in order to motivate me to spend the time and learn more about it.

Anyone fancy posting an example or 2, or point me in the right

direction??

Thanks in advance

You haven't seen examples because they haven't finished rendering yet. It can be slow.

But good. S&T can produce amazing results, but you have to spend the time to learn it, and then to render. Have you looked at the examples at Maxon's site?

Here's a little animated test I did when I first got C4D, I haven't used S&T since. Its a marker drawing of a sample model. It's too fast, but since its QT you can scrub back and forth to slow it down:

Ernest is bang on the money. Its a fabulous toolset, its slow, and it takes a commitment to learn. I'll post a sample animation I did a few days ago.

The thing to remember about S&T is that it requires a completely different mindset when it comes to both modelling and rendering. In the case of S&T less is definitely more.

Keep in mind this is a test of techniques much as Ernest's was. I was inspired to try and create architectural imagery much in the same line as the rock video "Take on Me" be A-Ha - oh yeah, I remember that far back.

The model is very simple block forms and all of the entourage are blocks from autocad. Only 3 materials are used and no lights. There is a pure white luminous material on the sky, an AO material on all geometric objects, and S&T applied to everything. I apologize for the wierd yellow cast, the uncompressed version is pure white.
