Geo62
Hello! I need a little help in maxscript. Actually I'm using 3dsmax6, and I'd like to xref some objects from a max file (that's my objects library) to lots of other max files. It's working (xrefs.addNewXRefObject.....), but I get a dialog every time, because of duplicate material, so I have to suppress or disable that dialog somehow, otherwise my script almost useless. How can I do this? Thanks a lot...
quizzy
search the maxscript reference on duplicate and then click: Material Common Properties, Operators, and Methods you have to make a fail-safe out of that.. its do-able...
Geo62
Hi Michiel! I've read the proper help section as you suggested, but I don't understand exactly what you mean. So again, my situation is something like this: 1. I have about 60 .max files and I'd like to put some objects (buttons with a letter) to each of them 2. I have an Objects.max file (it's a kind of library of the objects that I use during this project), which contains the objects that I'd like to xref from the above mentioned files 3. When I use xrefs.addNewXRefObject..., then I got that nasty Duplicate Material Dialog 4. So what is your suggestion? Do I have to check the materials before xref-ing those objects? And what can I do after that, remove the material from the scene, or what? 5. Sorry, I'm a newbi in 3dsmax Thanks György
