radioVOY
hi everyone long time since my last post and here another problem: id looked for similar issue in the post but none finded. the problem is that im rendering with v-ray and two issues; first when cancelling the rendering, v-ray sticks and takes forever to release max and continue working; second when i made my final settings for rendering (irradiance 4pases high settings and montecarlo secondary difuse) and if i try to lower the settings for further previews no matter what i change v-ray stills rendering with those settings. as you can imagine im waisting lots of time. thanks in advance for your replies im hope i was clear enough so you can help me. Ismael
Taking too long to stop has to do with what you put Vray to render. High reflection or refraction or too many levels of ref/refract visible to each other, super AA, super QMC, huge amount of lights, too much light, not enough...etc. Settings having no effect may be some material set to interpolation and that is what you see that make you think is calculating light. Ray
It seems to me that when I cancel a render, it finishes rendering the current buckets--maybe not totally complete, but at least to some degree. So if I cancel when it is at a position of high reflectance, etc. then it does seem to take forever.
radioVOY
the most anoying thing is the issue that if i quit indirect illumination, just direct light v-ray still keep rendering the irradiance map with 4 pases.
Ismael
On the later Vray versions there is a "Material Override". Set it to a plain default Vray mat and see if the 4 passes dissapear. If they do, then it is one of your materials. Ismael
