AJLynn
I'm back to working with that model of Boston I was asking questions about a few months ago, and inspired by Edward's Jets stadium renders I'd like to try making the existing buildings somewhat more building like (now they're just masses). I don't have anywhere near the time to do this properly but I was thinking I could make a material for "exterior generic building wall with some articulation for scale". Not too hard, but I'd like to make the roofs different ("generic roof material that's different from generic wall material"). Now, there are a few hundred of the buildings, a lot are separate objects, a bunch are single by-layer objects, and I'd like to avoid getting into all of them to set material IDs. So is there a clever mapping trick I can use to make everything that faces up one material, and everything that faces sideways something else? manta
Yes you can use a falloff map, set to an objects z axis
