joseph alexander
We’ve been specifying way too much knoll furniture. Clients tend to decide what furniture they like/dislike based upon renderings. So far knoll has been slaughtering everyone because they have that really great AutoCAD plugin… it’s frustrating because we may like another product more but nobody has a day to model out furniture that may or may not be accepted by the client. I'd like to make an updated list of furniture suppliers with 3D equivalents. As a side note: I think the most effective marketing strategy for a furniture producer would be to send architectural offices DVDs with 3D models of all their furniture .3ds and .Dwg. No cheezy intros just models. -Joe
joseph alexander
Real World 3D Furniture Herman Miller http://www.hermanmiller.com/CDA/SSA/Category/0,1564,a10-c410,00.html Knoll http://www.knoll.com/products/fsl.jsp (This plugin for AutoCAD allows you to turn symbols into 3D models.. it's quite nice if you want an entire building comprised of knoll furniture)
Hazdaz
I haven't used the ones you listed, but we had something like that years ago back at SMED (which was later bought out, and screwed over by Haworth)
