Premeire - Disolve acrossed multiple layers?

I'm using Adobe Premeire Pro to blend a few animated sequences together that have multiple layers per sequence. For instance, All shots use Alpha channels mattes which reveil background layers beneath them.

Currently, when I aply an Additive Disolve transition to a layer, it only occurs on that layer - reveiling the background layer that is directly beneath it - not everything beneath it. Is there a transition technique which will effect more then one layer at a time, or am I going to have to compile these layered shots, then pull back in the compiled shots so the regualr disolves will work?

Thanks in advance - MegaPixel

Just writing back to let you know that I found a solution.

When working with several different shots that have their own sets of layers, it is necessary to create a new "Sequence" for each Shot. Each sequence will house all the layers required for each shot (A new tab per sequence will appear at the top of your workspace). When compositing the project at the top-most level, you drag the "Sequence" reference into the timeline. Now when you apply effects or transitions to the sequences, it effects every layer within those sequences.

Thanks - MegaPixel
