New workstation

Hi all;

I am just about to buy a new workstation specifically for rendering

with Cinema 4D 8.5.

 

My old machine is grinding to a hault and the colour is starting

to go on the monitor.... so its time to buy a new machine.

 

I am just wondering has anyone got any recommendations

on the spec and where is the best place to buy a custom built

machine from.

 

Iv been looking at pcspecialist.co.uk but dont know much about them

and I am worried if th PC go's faulty etc...

 

Perhaps I should buy direct from Dell or PC world

Dual-Dual core Opteron or a Quad G5 - those are the fastest Cinema rendering machines (CB scores over 1000). The Opteron will give you much better view port performance due Windows OpenGL vs OSX, however the G5 will let you run Final Cut Pro for editing video. Both machines will cost about the same if you buy from a vendor. I have heard great things about Boxx workstations and they do build custom machines with Opterons.
