leoA4D
Instead what I would like to ask for all of you is to try to keep the discussions as professional, to the point and relevant as possible. I don't mind discussions about what is going on or opinions, but try to keep everything in check. Jeff, by not offering examples to define your bounds or limits of decency there can be no discussion that could lead to a common agreement as to what is/is not professional or acceptable. In general, the Maxwell forum has been tightly focused and not running amok. True, the frustration becomes overheated at times and the entire matter will all but disappear when something happens with NL - deliver what was promised and paid for or perish. This thread of yours throws a chill on expression and the lack of bounds reinforces, intentionally or unintentionally, the desire to limit expression. Some part of CG people is inextricably linked to "art", therefore, there is an association with "free" expresson. Whenever "professional" is used in these forums, it is pregnant with concealed meaning and works well with tie and white shirt and "keep everything in check." It is a conundrum, however, since you opened this matter, it's appropriate to offer more definition for all sides to consider. Otherwise, members of this forum must obey somebody's unwritten rules and if they get a little cheeky, according to someone, they will be looking over their shoulder for or expect admonitions from big brother. Finally, if infractions to these unwritten rules continue, it eventually could lead to steps intended to control behavior, like those that occurred over at NL, - censorship and banishment. The folks here are grownups, some professionals, some endowed with a generous amount of humor. Most are jaded customers of NL. None are psycopathic. Jeff Mottle
To clarify, I have no problems with discussions, even digruntled ones, about Maxwell the product or it's makers, but I would like to avoid having CGA be used for the planning ground for legal action, public petitions, innuendos, bickering, name calling, posts using explicatives masked with punctuation etc. I think you get the point and what I mean by professional. I'm not saying things are out of control,or that all of the above has happened, but I want to be clear about this in advance. Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread, I've been really busy the last few days. Jeff
