hey all...this is my first post in here and i'm just looking for any helpful advice to improve the lighting in this image...it's supposed to be set in a sunset mood to give it that warmth but i'm not so sure i've achieved that just yet...

however there're a few questions i'd like to ask as well...

- how do you create the 'over-exposed' effect of the light spilling in through the windows?

- any way to reduce render times? i'm using low presets as it is with an

irradiance map/light cache setup...almost 2 hrs for just a 640x480 is kinda long :\

any crits would gladly be appreciated...cheers!!

If you increase the intensity of the Sun/Skylight it will start getting more overexposed. Linear will "burn" more than HSV... Personally I would turn off the ceiling luminaires because they are competing closely or surpassing the Sunlight intensity. Are those IES luminaires? Do you have Max exposure control=Active also? When not Active, IES luminaires will be rendered by Vray taking into account the current setting of the Physical Scale and it is opposite to the Viz/Max help info... Standard or Vray Lights will not be affected.

Time is affected also by how many lights and what kinds of shadows and by the materials used among others and AA and QMC and and. Anyway, what did you use for Sunlight and are those 3D blinds?
