Trevor Tizard
Following on from the last interior thought I'd try multiple rooms. Obviousely the sun can only light from one side of the building so my lighting is as this so far............ There is just one direct light at the moment. I have not added vray planes in the windows as at a low setting they made the rooms darker. Also seem to be getting a hot spot on the ceilings (worse with plane lights). Can I have your suggestions please.
alfienoakes
If you have full Vray, there is a cracking tutorial on Internal Lighting by a guy called Serge Vasiliew. If you search for his name, I'm sure you will find it. I have the PDF file here, but its a bit big to post.. Post back if you can't find it.. Trevor Tizard
Hi Andy, Had a look for that tutorial but was unable to find it! Could you email it to me - size of file should not be a problem for me. Thanks very much, Trev
d.sign
to remove the hotspots burn out just change the color mapping type from linear to HSV exponential. You could use also plain exponential but it desaturate colors and lows intensity of lights to much. I posted some links for good tutorials on 3dAllussions site at software forums section. http://www.3dallusions.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1022 and tutorial by Caesar is here http://rapidshare.de/files/8700495/VM_VRay_Tutorial_Caesar.pdf.html I can send you a scene from this tutorial on mail later this evening

Trevor Tizard
Once again I find myself in debt to the people on this forum. That tutorial by Serge is Fab.............!! Still a way to go on the scene but thought you might like to see the storey so far. Thanks again. Trev.
d.sign
Well, you are not so far as you say. In fact, as for the pure daylight, you are quite close. Just that this kind of dollhouse views never look as realistic as normal camera view from vithin the room. Still, I like it very much. Next step is to put some furniture in and add some lightning fixture with photometric lights (use IES files for the ligh distribution). Hardest task is combination of daylight and artificial light. If you need some quite nice furniture stop by at 3dAllusions http://www.3dallusions.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1052 and download mx file. You can enter the chellenge if you like and test your skills...
