picknoser
This is my first attempt at lighting a scene for dusk. I didn't include foliage, etc because I'm focusing on the lighting right now. The surrounding terrain is covered with vegetation. It's a great group of people who frequent this board. The talent amazes me. Thanks for any comments! Tonsgaard
I'd say: -desaturate it - the colours gets more bluish and desaturated in low light. -mirror the sky to match the sunlight -the volume fog dosn't do you any good unless your going for a a humid environment or even rain. - could be dust though?! - if you're keeping the volume lights, I'd add a global one to make the overall feel to macth it. -might vanna look into the composition. You've got a HUGE area of road. put something there or maybe crop your image into a widescreen format. apart from that is pretty allright. good modelling. - my 2cents
skala67
is the pink on the wrong side of the objects, based on the sky behind? not sure just something that caught me
picknoser
Thanks for the fast replies! The client wants the view from a car as you drive in. I picked a different composition and they went back to this one. The sky is such an obvious thing, but I was thinking about it too much. I was doing research and found that a lot of times, the eastern sky is pink during sunset. It looks stupid though, so I'm changing it. Desaturating the colors is good advice too. Jeff Mottle
You need to add some fill light to represent the secondary (bounce illumination). All of your lighting is represented by direct lighting. Most dusk shots are lit entirely with indirect lighting as the sun is either very low in the sky or below the horizon.
