Max 6 Autoback fail

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the autoback not saving ?

 

This one is set to 10 minute intervals, @ 11:15 Max crashed but, the last autoback was 10:17. This is made even more bizarre as, Max does pause the program to save every 10 minutes.

 

Either the files have gone elsewhere or they have not saved ???

Max does that from time to time (just had the same problem here). Unfortunately, couldn't figure out why it does that and how to avoid (all I can think of is some Windows related problem). Anyway, I never rely on autoback copies, using incremental save and save as copy to ensure I always have a updated, non-corrupted file.

what i usually do, is saving everytime i reached a satisfactory goak, my files usually has 01, 02, 03..... endings, until i'm done, usually after 10+...

Thanks guys. I suspect it happens when Max is rendering or doing some other processor heavy task, this then prevents the autosave.

 

Anyway, the incremental save looks good but I am usually reliable at saving frequently - just some times Max has the last laugh !

i dont trust max's auto bak at all. jus make itterations of ur files. go save as, and press the + button, to make file01.max into file02.max. i do this every 30 mins or so, and at the end of the day / project, i delete the early files.

this came in v useful when some files (versions 20, 21, 22) had all corrupted for some reason, so i opened up version 19 and only lost about 2 hrs of work.
