Noise
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the autoback not saving ? This one is set to 10 minute intervals, @ 11:15 Max crashed but, the last autoback was 10:17. This is made even more bizarre as, Max does pause the program to save every 10 minutes. Either the files have gone elsewhere or they have not saved ??? thanks N
Ricardo Eloy
Max does that from time to time (just had the same problem here). Unfortunately, couldn't figure out why it does that and how to avoid (all I can think of is some Windows related problem). Anyway, I never rely on autoback copies, using incremental save and save as copy to ensure I always have a updated, non-corrupted file.
bokkins
what i usually do, is saving everytime i reached a satisfactory goak, my files usually has 01, 02, 03..... endings, until i'm done, usually after 10+...
Noise
Thanks guys. I suspect it happens when Max is rendering or doing some other processor heavy task, this then prevents the autosave. Anyway, the incremental save looks good but I am usually reliable at saving frequently - just some times Max has the last laugh ! regards n
notamondayfan
i dont trust max's auto bak at all. jus make itterations of ur files. go save as, and press the + button, to make file01.max into file02.max. i do this every 30 mins or so, and at the end of the day / project, i delete the early files. this came in v useful when some files (versions 20, 21, 22) had all corrupted for some reason, so i opened up version 19 and only lost about 2 hrs of work.
