how do you get rid of the paperclip animation in Word

but where do you turn it off..

also, the automatic display of help which i don't need..

I do hate that too, I've tried changing it to the dog or the wizard,

but in the end I stick with the paperclip. I think it's the less annoying.

Disabling the Office Assistant

If the Office Assistant appears on your screen and you do not want it there, then you have two options for dealing with it. You can either temporarily hide the Office Assistant or you can disable it entirely.

To hide it, right-click on the Office Assistant and choose Hide.

To disable it, right-click the Office Assistant and choose Options. On the Options tab, uncheck "Use the Office Assistant" and click OK.
