olbo
Just curious ... Question First was about the difference between the "preview" and "render" modes - it's clear difference between dark front faces of the cube in Mike's screenshots. I was curious about - was some bounce controls implemented in rc5 or not. With the release, i've found in render options "bounces for preview", but it's still unclear - does "render" mode limited somehow in this way, 'cause i'm really much more like beta images. Maybe ppl noticed, that there was no any decent(under "decent" i mean "stunning", not "vray-like") image since rc5 released. Other two questions i simply doesn't remember, it's 5 days passed, and they was written at 4am, in the middle of the night right after release. Answer Preview Mode (Viewport Preview and Material Preview) = RS0 Render Mode (Viewport Render and MXCL Render) = RS1+ Only Material Preview has bounce control all other modes have umlimited bounces. So what can you see at those pictures ? AJLynn
I don't think you can read much into that. Judging from Mike's posts, the feature set of the releases the A-Team people get changes daily.
olbo
@AJLynn You are right. This is just a sarcastic attempt to show, that there isn't enough communication internal too. Of course it could show that Tom is working to hard also ... take care Oleg
AdamT
What gets me is that Tom keeps posting these nice looking material tests, but he either doesn't explain how he did them, or he offers a cryptic, one-sentence explanation. It was annoying when he was just a regular forum member, but it's just wrong now that he's an NL employee.
olbo
Yepp Adam, I know what you're talking about. If I would post such new stuff I would post every info that could be important so every User can understand the way I achieved the result. Since he isn't doing that it implies he feels special because he can use the new material editor ... *ROFL* how childish ... a long time ago that I've seen such a behavior .. tsk, tsk. I guess, Tom is a player ... hehe. ;o) take care Oleg
Adehus
What gets me is that Tom keeps posting these nice looking material tests, but he either doesn't explain how he did them, or he offers a cryptic, one-sentence explanation. It was annoying when he was just a regular forum member, but it's just wrong now that he's an NL employee. It is particularly wrong now that he's an NL employee, but it's wrong in the same sense that most of what NL does is wrong. In that respect, at least there's consistency. I mean, we wouldn't want anyone from NL acting pleasant, sensible, and helpful, would we?
Max3D
You're right Adehus. The moment they start paying Mike Verta the whole company image would go down the drain
