demo38
Just came across the noise reduction software posted on digg.com that appears to be pretty incredible. Thought it might help... http://www.greyc.ensicaen.fr/~dtschump/greycstoration/demonstration.html
ecastillor
I guess if you have to use a noise reduction software for the rendered images of any given app...mybe its time to change that app!
Devin Johnston
Noise is just a byproduct of how Maxwell works, there's nothing wrong with it and I would argue that a little noise will actually help sell your image by removing that "CG" look that many engines are famous for. ecastillor
then I guess there is no point in using a noise reduction software or is there?

Devin Johnston
then I guess there is no point in using a noise reduction software or is there? My point was that "some" noise is acceptable or even desirable in certain circumstances. I'm not trying to say that all the noise Maxwell generates is good but at higher sampling levels once most of the noise clears there may be some left that actually adds to the image. Using a noise reduction program is a quick fix that most Maxwell renderings need at this point, that doesen’t mean the software is useless. Absolutely! And too, square leaves (no clipmaps) create a unique "look" that clients will die for. You'll have to beat them off with a stick when they see your sunlight-absorbing glass!
