aflack
I have keyframed a number of lights to dim between frames 100 and 200. When I render a still from anyway between this number it looks great with all the lights in the room slowly dimming. How-ever when I set the animation to process the lights don't dim and just remain at the current level. Don't know if it makes any difference but I am viewing the room through a wall that is set to be not visible to camera. I'm using Max 7 and vray! Help! notamondayfan
have u tried hiding that wall, or even deleting it? what the purpose of the wall ne way? also, try rendering to frames, then stitching them togther in something like adobe premier. aflack
The wall is there because it still contributes to the overall solution and lighting levels. I already am rendering to stills. Any other suggestions, anything would be appreciated?
JamesTaylor
i presume you are not reusing a saved irridance map from when the lights are at full strength?
aflack
I'm using Irradiance Map for my first bounce set to Multiframe incremantal and Light Cache for the second bounce set to flythrough. I'm not using a saved map do you think one of the above settings would be causing it?
JamesTaylor
i'd have thought that you need to recalc the irr map for each frame. by my understanding Multiframe Incremental calculates the irr map only for the parts of the image which haven't already been calculated and saved, therefore i'd guess its not updating the fact that your lights are decreasing in strength. i can't really suggest anything for the Light Cache as i normally use QMC as the second bounce, but again if you it is precalced and saved for reuse i'd have thought the same as for the irr map. try a few frames as a test and set the irr map to be recalced each frame, same for light cache and see what happens
