Hi all,

I work in an architecture office rendering projects all day, and I find that at the end of the day Rendering times go up and it gets fixed by restarting the computer (frees RAM memory I believe). Is this the case to you guys out there? I just thought restarting the computer wasnt very "healthy".

Thanks for your comments!

If your pc has not hardware or windows problems and your 3d application is stable, you should not need to restart. Certain applications or plug ins seem to cause memory leakages that accumulate over time and require a restart to clear. Using Viz, sometimes the software shuts down on its own, but not really often. I have rendered up to five days in a row without shutting the computer down.

diego.... are you running any other programs such as helper toolbars or any extra programs all day that could be causing memory leaks instead of just your vis programs? I use extras on my desktop for loading files and programs to combat my OCD and keep my desktop clean. Once had one that caused memory leaks.

STRAT....thx for the free pass, I've wondered about a program like that before but never bothered searching. I do alot of application writing and coding in Director when I'm not doing vis, and I've always just been careful not to cause memory leaks... nice to have something to watch my back...uou rock...thx!
