lemog
Hey Ronald, thanks for all these good words... You know about the Belgian pavilion, of course this one have the chance to have goodest rendering... just for one reason, when you see all these details, that give envy to go further... but I must take care... When I modelize it, I've tried to not make all the details, but simplify as the all previous... I do that... but even if I simplify a lot, certains que be hide. But I increase the polycount average... And in other hand, I don't need this quality for a film... even if planed to do renderings in HD format... Yes, I'm always with this old computer, but finally a good quality of computer, very expansive few years ago... the couple Intergraph with Wildcat Cg card works again very good... ...of course, for the moment, I work each time on only one pavilion... I can't imagine finishing the movie like that... and I much change this computer a day... but when ? A good workstation is expansive... and it's only a personal project for the moment... ...so maybe I can find one day a simpathetic sponsor ;-) hahahahaha Thanks again for your comments man, you're welcome... lemog
No update about a new pavilion... because I'm working on an another part... also interesting... and a major part of the fair, the moving sidewalk... It permit to take the tour of the world's fair without tiredness... Even if it's not really archi thing, I show it to you anyway... the originality is always very interesting (I hope...) The 2 moving sidewalk in place, with their shapes... on their respective rails... Not so difficult to built... that need more time to study the details, size, mechanics than to model... but that rest very passionating... The second sidewalk move at 4.25 km/h and the third at 85 km/h... the first keep immobile and is just here to access. Here's a pic, with at left the actual supports used on the Quai d'Orsay... at right, an another shape for the supports... for an another part of the fair, Avenue de la Bourdonnais. Argie Urbanite
Hello everyone, I find this forum going though the internet, when a link drove me directly to this thread... man, I couldn´t believe my eyes. CONGRATULATIONS is the least I can say about such a wonderfull job, purely based on love for what you´re doing. Well, I´m taking my first steps into architecture, and I`m really into 3D modelling.. I must say your work is the best I´ve seen in a long while. You´re a real inspiration. You must have answered this questions before, but going through 36 pages of comments is gonna blind me. So ¿do you have any studies in architecture and 3D modelling, or are you a self learner ? (meaning informal knowledge, don´t know what´s the word in english) ¿and what program do you use to produce this great renders, does it require too much practice to get results this good? thanks, and keep on going man, I´m gonna follow your work closely from now on !! (meaning informal knowledge, don´t know what´s the word in english) I've learn 3d alone... especially because at the time when I start, there's no real formations for that... no choice at this moment... but always the must important today, it's to really work hard if you want to be very good... work hard and a lot ! ¿and what program do you use to produce this great renders, does it require too much practice to get results this good? I use Maya... I start to work with this software 5 years ago... I think it's a incredible tool... I like a lot it even if I've tried other software.... but of course, this one is especially dedicate to the entertaintment, than for the architectural works... or anyway adapted to the archi viz... thanks, and keep on going man, I´m gonna follow your work closely from now on !! Thanks... you're welcome... seeyou soon ;-)

Argie Urbanite
Excellent!! I really like that foggy effect on the background, and the pavillion looks great, one of the smallests, even still great. Why is Portugal´s flag white and blue? was it like that in 1900? I really like that foggy effect on the background, and the pavillion looks great, one of the smallests, even still great. Why is Portugal´s flag white and blue? was it like that in 1900? Exactly man... the portuguese flag was like that in 1900... of 1830 to 1910... I know it's not archi, but it's always the project... I'm working actually on the electric train, if people are interested I post anyway this work, don't hesitate to ask me, and I will post the pics... thanks for all you great support here... lemog
Okay Eduardo... I will continue with this transport material then... normally, I'll start an another pavilion in 1 week... Now first part of the train... just few details... in fact between all these buildings, that seem very resting for me, even if I must take care about polys number... as I like much to detail this kind of things... lemog
And now the next step... Well... sorry for the details, it's finally stronger than me, as you can see again on these new pics... fortunetely, I will keep this pictures for the memory, because I'll certainly obliged to hide some of them in the final scenery for sure

lemog
That's some serious detail there! Do you plan on having any close up images of this? It's planed to have couple of closer views in the animation, especially when the visit of the second range of pavilions (line where is the Portuguese pavilion), the train is just few meters behind the buildings... but I've planed a version lower, when the train is more far in background... lemog
...and the following... Update time... remain again more details to add... roof, decoration, fabrics... Next week... I will be able to do the texturing...
Msamir
Nice work as usual Laurant, are you planning on doing a small animation for any of those pavilions ?
lemog
In fact, it's not a small animation which is planed... but a long time animation in the world's fair, it's also the reason why this project will be very long... the film of the 1900's Paris World's Fair is my goal... how long ? don't know for the moment... just depend where I can go... and especially if I keep all my motivation during this long time of work... thanks to stop by Samir.
