lemog
Thanks for your good remark Jacek... I do some research too... and this flag was a problem for me, I saw it on a color drawing on the issue in 1900... but as I was not sure, I do some other controls. I know the austria-hungary... but they was something special along the river Seine, this large empire decided to built 3 different pavilion jus beside, the one of Austria, the one of Bosnia-Herzegobina, and the one of Hungary. I read on a book that the flag of the Hasburg family was put on the pavilion, and the journalist speak about a flag black and yellow. Then, even if this one was not the flag of all the empire, but as the emperor François-Joseph have reserved the first floor of this Austrian Pavilion for his travels at Paris, maybe it's the reason of this flag... Take a look to this pic, with the Hasburg colors... I've found yesterday a new photo about the austrian pavilion... en they was 3 flags on the face... 2 with kind of vertical tape, certainly black and yellow, a bit like the one on this postcard : The third flag is less visible, a bit as the one with triangles at the border on the first pic... Maybe I will finish to find one day a good representation of this detail... in any case, thanks a lot for your interest and your thought... lemog
It's time to continue on the pavilions, and to show you the references for the next... the one of United States... Of course, you know well this kind of architecture... not very original but very american... In the issues of this time, we can read about it that was a true monument... great and comfortable. At the top of the face, there's the statue of freedom leading the carriage of progress. With the entry of the triumphal arch, a statue of Georges Washington. Those are going to be harder than the building. I love the boats. Any word on an getting your piece produced as part of a historical show? Perhaps the National Geographic Society would be interested, or some French historical society?
lemog
Thanks Ernest... About horses and carriage, I must especially take care to the polycount, and as not close-up are planed for the animation, I will work on it like horses at the front of the Austrian Pavilion, I think that will be enough. You're absolutely right about National Geographic... I'm a reader of this book since many years and I thought to their TV channel for this documentary... I will wait to finish the first part before to contact them... For the moment, I prefer to don't have pressure... (I have enough of it in my job...) Well... it's time for the first polygones of the next pavilion... The beginning of the Triumph Arch... note the flag of this time with only 45 stars (I hope it's right...)
