In any case, I think to start the boat before... it remain me at least 2 or 3 weeks before the persian pavilion, the 4th of this second rande. While waiting... last pic of the week... ...wallpaper step of course ;-) I will try this week to think about peruvian textures... not much things wreote on my books... especially about azuleros... certainly work with 3 basics color, white/gray - Azul - Yellowish... as many monument hispano-peruvian, in Cuzco by exemple, I hope Eduardo agre this choice. lemog
now the first step of texturing... first test... because that will be certainly changed much in the next one. Not easy to find good informations in my references, the only couple of colored drawings I have about this pavilion are too unprecise, it miss all importants details. I will be oblige to interprate the decorative only with texts descriptions. Something a bit strange if we compare with the photo of the real actual building at Lima, the pavilion was describe as multi-colors... a bit as sweet cake... not at all the same look at first view ! On this picture update, you can see a blue part, I will change it to something more orange, like it's visible on these old buildings in Peru, at Cuzco by example... and I will put some white and blue azuleros on the towers. At the top of the first floor, a range of ceramics with flower patterns. On each windows, I will add the name of differents peruvian cities, dark blue and gold. PIVRA - CANTA - CUZCO - LIMA - CHOTA - CALLA (I hope the orthograph is good for each name, not easy to read on a bad drawing) The central dome was done in glass and goldy metal. Of course, that will be very colored, I prefer to say it before, you risk to be astonished for the next update...

lemog
hahaha... ok guys... I will do it then... ;-) Before pics, the little story... This model of tug boat was made in 1900... the reference already exists actually, it was restored few years ago and is actually exposed in a french Musuem. I have a solid documentation about it, and I will work on its reconstruction helped by the people of this museum... of course, I must do something very precise... as the first boat made few months ago. This fluvial ship has a steam engine (pilon compound) of 150 HP, its size : 22.70 x 3.85 x 1.80 meters... and now the first picture...

lemog
I've made some new test with MR + FG, to try to have best short render time... but for the moment, I couldn't be under the half-hour for a HD1080 render size... is too much... or I must find much other powerfull computers for the film... lemog
The following of the tug boat...
scooter
Sweet! I like that. For the rendering, as you know, I'm really into optimisation these days! So, if I may, I can suggest a few things: -I think your trees are in 3D : try to make buildboards instead or leaves panels into the branches. -I don't remember what is the machine you're using to render, but if it's a 64bits processor, I hightly recommand that you install a 64bits OS (saved me up to 20% on the rendering) -If you could separate the models the people and the backround, on different layers, and render them separatly and composit with After Effect after, in addition it may same also some time. -Why do you want to render over 768x576 size? (DVD format) It will still be OK on a large screen. No?
lemog
hey mate... I know this file was not totally optimized, but in the final one, they will be more elements, other things in the environment, more animated people, of course, trees will be differents, it also missed the electric train, the Paris background... that will be composited for sure, I could do only like that, even with a strong computer... ...and about the format, as it remain me many years before the end, I prefer to be ready with better technologies... and these larger resolutions as HD... the PAL size is good for today, but I'm trying to already think for "tomorrow"... Also, less right in the case of MR... the renderer software of Maya is really better in larger size... especially in this case of very detailed pictures. And about the Maya64b... remember, I have the license for Maya 5, only... hahahaha... Bonne fin de journée poto ;-)
