lemog
beside your incredible modelling skills, the key int the ship's case was documentation...that drawing of the sections of the hull is awesome. i don't know if you ever heard talking about the "Huascar", it is a peruvian armoured battle ship of the XIX century. I always wanted to model it, but documentation is always extremely difficult to get. as far as i know, there's no original plans in the english firm that built it. i managed to get some drawings on internet, some of them really valuable. but not as detailed as i would like them to be. Eduardo p.s. keep up the excellent job. You're right Eduardo... for this tug boat and the previous boat I've made, I've had the chance to have a good contact, a museum of fluvial navigation... For the project, I have an another one to do, but a fishing boat made in 1864, wich make 40 years in the Terre-Neuves french shore, and was exposed on the River Seine in the Paris 1900 world's fair... I'm searching since the beginning of the project some documentations and plan... but for the moment, I've only rebuilt its history... at 90%... I find few days ago a specialist of these boats... and at his advice, it not exists plans of this ship, and certainly also not of a similar boat... ...I will continue my researches until I decide to start it anyway, and the guy restart his researches too, but the hope is very small... ...the only chance I could have will be to find the plan one day in an antic store... but I need be very very very lucky ;-) hahahahaha If not, I will be oblige to work only with only few bad photos... not impossible, but of course very approximative... lemog
Next step... ...I'm not fully satisfied by the inner part of the gate... I've redo it many times, and I decide to stop... I'll wait the texturing step to see if that work or not...

mohamad
as you said inner part need work but it's too hard (for me). but think textures help you. also if you try to make those details then you make many faces that will make slow the final scene so I think it's enough and will become aceptable after texturing. go on lemo... I've saw many photos of different persian buildings, and even if their details are often different, I don't saw any similar model... maybe the reason is because the architect of this pavilion was french... don't know. I've found the real inspiration for this building, maybe you know it, I don't have the real name, nor in english... maybe that could be understand by you Mohammad... it's the "College of the Sultan Hussein mother". And the kiosk at the top was inspired by the Palace of 40 columns, you know it certainly, it's at Isfahan... Well... the face now... unfortunetely, it's really approximative... not enough references...

lemog
Now the first tests of texturing... walls are inspired by Ali Ghapu... don't know, but maybe that must be more white... ...I will see with the other parts.

Wreck
All I can say is that I totally praise you for your diligence. Considering this is a project that is now over a year in length, it must have become a habit and almost an addiction for you. I have never seen such detail on a private project before, let alone a professional one. You are a MASTER!

Inxa
Hello Lemog, Okay going on and going strong. I loved the ship you created. Thanks for the help with how to model it also. Liked the MR renders. Keep it up.
lemog
Scooter -> yeah man... these few days at Lisbon was very good... ...it's a more of interesting city, much things to do, to see, to eat, to drink... Maybe a bit hard for legs... hahahaha Wreck -> Thanks for your comment Joseph... but I don't think it's not a real addiction... ...I could stop immediately for an another project, or any good reason... with no regrets. But for the moment, it's especially the passion wich animate me. The passion for 3d, for old architectures, for the World's Fair, for historical research, for this time... Many passions are grouped in this project, very motivating ! Mohammad -> don't worry mate, my first goal is too obtain a result wich could work well... At first view, it doesn't remain much documents of this pavilion, and not sure the french architect just follow exactly his inspirations. Inxa -> Thanks a lot to continue to follow this project Girish ! Well... now it's time to update the Persian Pavilion... ...with texturing finished, or almost... ...I'm not totally satisfied... I don't know exactly why, even if thtere's some details to arrange... Maybe before I must integrate it in it's environment, to see exactly where that doesn't match... lemog
Other tests... with a more white material, more like plaster... I must take the choice now...
lemog
Now it's time to talk about the next Pavilion... the one of Luxembourg (Scooter will be happy for sure...) This pavilion was inspire by the Palais Grand Ducal of Luxembourg, the modern part of it (modern in 1900 of course). And again, due to the small size between the 2 ranges, no real photos of the large face... but fortunetely, I have a plan wich could give me the good dimension... not perfect, but it's already that... On the 2 b&w photos, you could see at left a staircase, it's the moving sidewalk station... of course, I must do it too...
lemog
and the first polygons... the left entry at left, near the previous persian pavilion...
lemog
Here's the animation about the tugboat construction... nothing very complicated due to my lack of time... just what they ask me at the fluvial museum of Conflans (france) DIVX 640x480 - 3'30" - 21mo
lemog
An another test made yesterday evening, with the other pavilion (it missed between them the train station), to see how that react with the difference of textures... It's a mix of the stone wall and plaster wall... don't know if it's the good solutions...
