I have a lack of motivation due to much probs with my job... but I will try to do my best to find the force to work a little on the project... ...while waiting for more... a little update :
prats
Don't worry, things will resolve. In the meantime, keep the 71 pages as motivation....cos we want to see this full and complete...it gives us motivation

Aaron2004
Lemog, After making these detailed models, you must have learned a thing or two on the way. What modeling technique do you think that you learned/used the most here? Are you using a lot of booleans? Are your meshes pretty clean? lemog
Nice details Lolo! I can't wait to see the texturingça va venir la semaine prochaine j'espère... Lemog, After making these detailed models, you must have learned a thing or two on the way. What modeling technique do you think that you learned/used the most here? Are you using a lot of booleans? Are your meshes pretty clean? Aaron Of course, I hope I'm better in this kind of things now... but my way to modeling seem de same since much time now, I feel very well with my technic with Maya... very traditionnal in fact, poly by poly... rarely I use boolean, it's not the better way to have clean and light models... ...I can't judge myself my meshes, some of my friends said me that my work is really clean and optimized... but maybe you could ask that to the CgArchitect challengers who used some of my models in the actual contest... that will be certainly more objective... But one thing is sure, I'm must try to manage cleanly the model, because with the high number of pavilions, I can't permit me to make something to heavy... even if I'm often higher that I've planed... but not so much... Time ofr update now, with the center part...

I'm late, but I find little time yesterday evening to work a little on the Moving Sidewalk Station... certainly not perfect due to the lack of documents, here's anyway the result, for the moment :

wodewil
Hej Mr. Lemog! I have problems with the respiration when I look your work! When already hereof you mentioned ...ask that to the CgArchitect challengers who used some of my models in the actual contest... I'd like to thank You for the facilities of so splendid models! This the great honour to be able to work with them! I'd like to answer to - Aaron2004 : Are your meshes pretty clean? Since 1997 I'm graduated architect. I'm also working -4 years -as leveldesigner and modeler for RatSqare - 3Dgames... so optymalization it is my secoud name:) I've choosed Great Britain Pavilon. Unfortunately we'v got 3ds exported. I belive that there could become some mistaces during exportation. For first look it seems to be very light... but then I found not neccesery polygons on the backsides... so I started to optymalizate them.. it took me about 2-3 hours to find those superfluous triangles and then to delete them. AND I'VE SAVED ONLY ABOUT 4-5% OF TOTAL WEIGHT!!! So it have no sens to loose that 3-4Hours (2-3h working and one more to telling myself : what for I was doing this!!! ). Our HeavenX - RatSquare Engine can handle 100'000-130'000 faces per frame... for example: Unreal Engine 3 can handle 500'000 faces per frame and levels could count over milions of triangle! So maybe it could be good idea to understood with Unreal 3 and to make the virtual reality It's Yours dream - poly dont counts!!! AMAZING WORK!! lemog
Hey can we see a wireframe. I would love to see how you modeled this. Thanks -Joe- no prob, I post it soon ;-) So it have no sens to loose that 3-4Hours (2-3h working and one more to telling myself : what for I was doing this!!! ) Hahaha... I understand well you try it... certainly I've done the same thing... even for me, it's always interesting to know how the other guys made their meshes... thanks a lot for your comments ! skala67 -> thanks to follow my project... Now a little update, the moving sidewalk station is now textured, and I change the wood color of the sidewalk by this green, very fashion in this 1900 world's fair. I found a watercolor of it, my only one color reference for the moving sidewalk...

wodewil
Hej Mr Lemog If you will permit me this I can for you post a couple views of my low meshes. They are extremally low because of polycount. And I used to choose the most simple way. I'm always trying to composite shapes with ganerated maps coords ( primitives, loft, lathe, symmetry... I dont like extrude or bevel but sometimes there is no other way) and then attaching to poly, cutting and welding. That is easier to unwrap latter for lightmap. See You later. GREAT WORK!!! Of course I'm okay you post some views of your meshes, I'm always curious... and I know my models could be lower in polygons... but I've made a choice to enriched the renderings while playing much with lights and shadows... it's my choise and finally I think it's a choice very adapted with my method of modeling and my own feeling of these shapes... ...as you know, we have all our own method, and many ways exists to obtain the same goal... ;-) now the renderings of the finished Luxembourg Pavilion... I hope that will be okay for you even if it remain some little details to fix... and I think I will be ready to start the next one, next week... I've planed to start the Finland Pavilion... but I find a new contact in Finland, it exist a book wrote about this pavilion, in finish of course... but a french professor of a finish university have translated it in french... don't know where is possible to buy it (even on the web), but anyway, I've contacted this guy... I'm waiting actually his answer (he was in travel), and if especially there's good informations I don't have in this book... Then, it's possible I start an another pavilion (romanian or bulgarian) while waiting these new informations... we will see that next week.
