The final goal is a film, a documentary film, and if I have the force to do all... of course that will do more of one documentary.

The first documentary is planed for the end of 2008...

But I will do before an another version, a bit lighter, for an exhibition... that will be certainly for end 2007...

...my most important problem is the time, because I must continue to work in the same time on other parts of the world's fair... not easy, I work only during the night...

Now, the first polygons of the next bridge, the Alma's bridge... this one will have too a associated footbridge, with a different look than the previous bridge of Invalides...

I was oblige to do the 2 statues situated on the visible side of the Alma's bridge...

Normally, these bridge have 4 different statues of soldiers... a zouave, a rifleman, an artillerist and a hunter with foot... the two first are catched by the footbridge, but the two last are visible at the Old Paris side...

I've tried to do them quickly, and especially with not too much polygons, they never be viewed too closed... I think the result is sufficient...

Keep up! This is going really good!

Thanks a lot for this good support...

I have an information for you... do you know the Greek pavilion in Paris 1900 already exists in Athens ?

Not easy, but I've found the adress... in Sygrou avenue... it's actually a church... in a very very good state... very beautiful...

Realized by the french architect Lucien Magne, knowed in greece for his restoration works on the parthenon in the end of XIX century...

I have not read through the entire post, so I hope that someone else has not already made this comment, but... have you thought about some type of historical society that may be interested in this when you are done? You are recreating a time capsule that none of us on this board have ever experienced. The idea of finding such a large idea and creating it all in 3D just for fun is amazing on its own, but the history behind it is even more interesting.

Lemog as soon as I get back to Athens I will check out the church!

Still awesome work! Do you have a polycount limit ? The bridge is awesome! I assume that the soldiers are low poly subdivided huh?

Do you plan to come back in Athens?

Excellent job my friend! You are trully in inspiration!

Ooh... cool man... If you have the possibility to take much large photos, I will be very glad... my friend take only these 4 photos...

Still awesome work! Do you have a polycount limit ?

Yes and no... that depend... for each pavilion, limit is around 25000 polys per pavilion... certain have less, other as the Italian or belgian ones have more of 200 000 polys...

I've planed for the whole projet to keep under the 10 millions limit ! but sincerly, I'm not sure to be able...

I assume that the soldiers are low poly subdivided huh?
huhu... less than 800 polys I mean...

Do you plan to come back in Athens?

When ? I don't know... but it's sure I come back one day. Greece is one of my favorite countries... and I appeciate a lot greek people... always very kind and simpathetic...

Now simple texturing for the Alma's bridge...

I love the water effect! So cool and real! The textures are painted in PS? Great job there!

A mix, between many photos and painted in PS...

Well... the footbridge seem finished for the moment... I'm not totally satisfied, but I have a big lack of documentation about this piece... maybe I will find another informations before the integration...

...in other hand, it's not the most important part in the project, only an environment detail...

hmmmmmm... Are you going to fly over the bridge in long distance? cause the rocks need a bit of attention imho...

The bridge will be not visible so closed... in fact, that was not rocks or stone... but only something to clothes the metallic armature... certainly in cement painted... ...as rocks...

Well, it's time to start with the next one, the Finnish, situated between the Luxembourg and bulgaria...

It's one of smaller pavilion of the Nation's Street with only 400 m2.

Its style make think to finnish churches and village houses, but with an ornements very modern... very "Art Nouveau"... it's certainly the pavilion the most "fashion" of this serie of 23 pavilions !

...and the cherry on the cake ? the last of the first part

Before to show the first polygons, some references :

If you are doing the details from the references above then I am speachless!!

Always, these references are not completely precise... and I also must interprate with my own vision... and of course, it's only my taste or my knowledge about this point...

Few polygons more... I started the left part of the building...
