Fantastic Lemog.

I look in here often and don't post because that's all I ever have to say!

Ditto, I think you've really taken a strong hold as an icon for the largest private architectural undertaking. Hell, you've started this project long before I even got into CG a couple years ago. I think the payoff will be monumental and the end result will be spectacular and nothing like anything else done in the industry.

I continue to look forward to updates.

Thanks to contribute to give the motivation... I hope the future of this project will be good, and as you said... nothing is sure for the moment...

...I hope and I think the next year will be very rich for this project... just remain me to work again ;-)

...and much !

Well, sorry for the silence during almost a week... I was very busy on an other parallel project... and I can't talk about for the moment... but soon, you'll see something...

I've planed to start the next step the November 15, it's soon and I'm of course late... even if I've worked as a fool to finish the finnish textures quickly, I've prefered to have a total week to work seriously on the Vieux-Paris documents... it's not the case, and I will start the second part of the project in few days...

Now, let's me show you the textured Finnish Pavilion... I hope you'll continue to appreciate its original design...

The thing that leaves me speechless is the simplicity that you have in your attitude... This is a very big project and you react as it is something ordinary... You update weekly like the computer does all the work and you are out for a coffee!!

Man I wish I can reach your level sometime!

Well... you know, it's not a very complicated project... it's only very long to do and claim much energy... often very hard, I must acknowledge it, but much of pleasure, fortunetely !that give the good force to be motivated !

One thing is sure, maybe it's also the maturity wich permitit, I know, 10 or 20 years before I couldn't do something like that !

And as I know I'm far to be the best CG worker, I've decided to work more ;-)

...the latest update now, as you know, it's the wallpaper time...

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry friends to be late... 2 weeks !

But I can reassure you... I was not in vacancy or resting time... I was very busy with all my life... and moreover with the project.

While waiting the production time for the first part, I've started the second, the "Vieux Paris" in the expo 1900... a medieval reconstruction created by Albert Robida, a kind of Jules Verne of this time...

That was built along 260 meters of Seine's banks, around 6000 m2...

Here's above the map of the event, and situated the part where the Vieux Paris :

If you speak french and if you're interested to follow all the story and to know the details about this reconstruction, there's now a dedicated blog

LE VIEUX PARIS D'ALBERT ROBIDA

Sorry, it's only in french because this site is also used to work with historians, and the association of the Robida's friends...

I for one would love to see a speed modeling video on one of your buildings, just to see your work flow.

If I remember right...somewhere in this crazy thread Lemog posted a video of his workflow (not a speed test thing though)...it'll probably take some time to find, but from what I remember it was pretty cool.

Hi lemog:)

I'am still new here and think to post my very first entry now.

The last 30 minutes i'd explored this looong thread and your great and hard

efforts to World's Fair 1900.

I enjoyed it very much and was also impressed:)

At some point, sooner or later when you finished this work

with the Tower of Gustave Eiffel, you deserve a CG Architect Oscar;)

Keep it up

Hey thanks and welcome here...

Sorry for you and all the good friends here... actually, it's a bit hard for me... with my job... and few other things, but the motivation is always here for the project.

Maybe that will be my last project (I hope not of course)... it's certainly one of the most interested part in my life actually... and of course, that eat a large part of my energy, especially with the historical researches...

I've planed to restart to post here more (but I must find more time anyway...), if you are interested of course...

...even if the actual part is certainly less interesting for you all, cause it's very medieval.

Before to post wip's images... let me wish you all...

...all the best for you and your familly for 2008...

Happy New year 2008 for you all and the CgArchitect community ;)

That make now 2 almost 2 months I've started the Vieux-Paris (old Paris)...

I've planed to work on it between 6 and 8 months... but at first view, that will be very short, and sincerly, no idea how many time that will need, I hope to don't be other 1 year... arghhhhh

Heres some interesting steps of the first part... the first part could appear very small... because it's only a quater of the first quater... anyway, a bit impressive for me... hahaha

The first part of the medieval part... the most ancient of this reconstruction.
