A little update about the gate, I start the 2 other arches... but already stopped... there"s some details I don't really know... I must do more research before continuing... if not... the imagination must do it...

Thanks for posting the animation! I still can't over how much detail you are all putting into this....simply a labor of love.

"a labor of love"... well resumed... thanks for your comments... ;-)

Well... It's time for news... with the return of the Swedish one, finally, I can find some times this week to rework on the textures of wood...

Simple, I've modeled each tiles, mapped with painted wood, and render it to obtain the good tiles texture needed... I think that's better, and near of the real one... I hope you like as me...

VERY COOL!!! :) I like the cartoonish character of the renderings and I absolutely love the modelling!!!

Cartoonish... ? It's not really the goal... but thanks anyway... ;-)

Nice smooth controlled camera work on the animation. I also like the way you've handled the lighting dilema on the shade side of the buildings.
Yes, you're right... visualize these shade sides is always a problem to solve... I profit of this fly to test some solutions... I hope that will be usefull for the final animation...

I've been wondering this throughout this whole proccess, but have yet to come out and ask you. How do you do that fog? I love it. Is it an actual effect within maya, or is it composited in post?

It's possible to do a similar effect in Maya, but of course, it's faster in compositing, with clouds in Photoshop... for the moment, I put this effect just to enriched the scene... because there's not real background, environment or life...
