It's only a personal project...

The Grand Arche now...

I keep the statue for the moment in simple stone... unfortunetely, on my only 3 color references about this gate, the statue have 3 different representations... on in clear stone, an another in various brown colors, and a last one painted in gold...

I must do more researcg about that... I keep this part for the end of the gate...

In the same time than this gate, I continue the range of 15 pavilions along the river Seine... and now that the Greek one is finish, It's time to start the one beside, the Serbian one... it's latest on the quay, just front of the Alma's Bridge...

Here's some pics of the real Serbian Pavilion in the World's Fair :

I don't know if anyone asked, but how do you know exactly what the colors were? Is there a description somewhere of the building colors? Just curious.

Good question man... in fact, it's also one of the major problems in this kind of reconstitution...

I have some colored drawing for certain pavilions... and I help myself with many descriptions in various books of this time...

Sometimes, I have more of one colored drawing for a same one pavilion, but of course, artists interpretate much colors and part, and there's colors differents for a same... I try to do a good average, not easy.

By example, about the greek pavilion, on certain books, there's bricks with 2 tones of pink... and white marble for columns, and for other books, there's these pink brick, with row of other but blue...

I must do now other test with these blue rows... and finally choose what I prefer, if I don't find another good precision...

Of course, as I continue my reasearch of old books, I can find more color indication before the end of my project... remain me much time...

Thanks for your interest.

LEMOG!! YOU ARE A MACHINE!!!

I canot believe my eyes anymore - this is simply too amazing. A Masterwork!

The personal dedication and passion to research, and carry out this project is simply stunning.

By chance, have you heard of the book "Devil in the White City"? One of the main story lines of the book is Daniel Burnham's quest to build the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago - fascinating book. I can't help to make to mental connection when seeing this thread.

Just curious: how much "free time" do you actually have?

Keep it up!

No, I don't know this book... I search on the web, and effectively, that seem very interesting...

About this World's Fair of Chicago in 1893, I have a couple of pics in my collection...
