lemog
actually i think i like this one the most so far... ok, now you got me wanting to do stuff like this.... i couldn't match your talent tho... maybe some day far down the road... I think this one will be very interesting... it appear to haven't an complicated architecture, but in fact, after some polygons, I understant that this one risk to be other my limit of 50 000 polygons by building, and also, much work. I'm more advanced than this update, and I can assure you that this tower is very impressive, I imagine it easily along the river Seine... You know, it's not obligatory a complicated modeling, and I don't think to use much talent in this case, only need much will, and much passion, and the envy to go further... that's all... True in this case, in this project, as it's true of many things I've done, before to start, I'm say myself that all is always possible... the most difficult is maybe to find the better and easyer way... after, just remain to do it

lemog
Hi lemog! Id like to ask you a question if you dont mind.so whats your work flow in maya?,as you're a bit expert now in modeling with this software,I mean when you open a new scene how do you start on? in max, I usually start with a box & start booleaning it, extruding faces in & out and so on.....this is because these days Iam starting to selfteach myself maya..a great software I guess .I need your own opinion & prefered work flow >THANKS!! As you can see, I don't forget your question about my modeling process, as images talk most than words... here's the little animation promised about my modeling, for the Monaco's tower... lemog
Hopw much more do you have to do before you begin to assemble the final piece? If it's about this pavilion... remain me the left side and the right side... I'm sad because I don't have photos of the back... I continue to search in the same time, if not... some trees will be helpful... but if you ask me about the entire project... like this one is the 6th pavilion, it remain certainly more of hundred to do... but I prefer to doesn't count precisely for the moment... and as I must do much research, I need more documentation about certains. These pavilions are situated along the river Seine, and the first step is 15 Nation's Pavilions... I will progress by step... in first these 15 ! lemog
Hmmm... I'm a bit late... but I'm here, it's the most important... Now, the continuation of the Monaco Pavilion with the left side : The 2 side remaining will be made how I can because I don't have any photos of them... and some trees on the back side then... lemog
Well... the modelisation is almost finished for the pavilion... with the right side (interprated), and some details more... No views of the back side, because I have any documentations about this part...
lemog
I've made some new rendering test... with clean scene, to try to find something a rendering more in the 1900' mood, and really fast for the animation... Here's the tests, and I must acknowledge to really like this way... of course, it's not realistic but anyway interesting for this kind of project I mean... I will be glad to have your advice. Of course, it will certainly better to test that in a real animation. These rendering are done with Mental Ray... and little compositing made with After Effects, for the chromatic value and the noise... I hope you like

edub
Lemog, those last renderings look awesome - the only thing is, the flags look too saturated compared with the rest of the scene. Other than that nothing to critique... keep doing it!!
