IUI Design
Hi Guys, I know there's a few people here that work for/in architectural offices around the UK and I was wandering if any of these guys or girls had experience of working in Ian Simpson's offices in Manchester?? Currently I was looking for a new position in Manchester as a Senior Architecural Technician, and where I could also develop my 3d skills a bit further to the next level and have been approached by an agent regarding the offices of Ian Simpson. Any help appreciated, thanks. Ifty
3dp
had a agent phone about them before christmas i did visual work for the, on a lift project 3-4 years ago - that was a slog was contacted by a agent before christmas about them myself but a couple of issues be prepared to leave home and live in their office the turnover of staff is very high which always says something for a "name" practice also the salaries don't start with a 5 or 4 or a 3 so thats a no for me and seeing that you can pull up to £25p/h on contract in the city offices then again i'm on a hospital project and my skills 3d and design management wise means i won't be back in a architects office for a long time
IUI Design
Thanks for that advice David. I'm going to speak to the agent about the points you raised and I will be also asking the following questions: 1. What are the office working hours? 2. Do they offer flexible working hours (ie. start & finish at different times)? 3. Number of days (holiday) per year? 4. Paid overtime up to senior level (double time or time and a half)? 5. Is further training & development offered (if required)? Ifty
