mskin
Photo montage of theater renovation project. I think i did ok with the perspective, but i wonder if there is an easier way than trying to eye it by moving the camera around. also not sure if the photo is a 38mm, 35mm etc... digital canon a85. how do you know what the aperture is? I zoomed all the way out for the photo, and assumed 35mm but i dont know.
STRAT
in my experience eyeing the camera is always the best solution (depending on your experience of course). thats a decent start m8. you need some nicer gi lighting in there, some defined textures, more specularity and environmental refs to the glass too. isnt there somewhere in photoshop that'll give you the exact specs of a photograph and how it was taken? mskin
i don't know about photoshop, ill check it out. I know 3d max has something, but i haven't ever had the patience to follow through with it. im not sure why its not as simple as identifyiing a horizon line and a few lines that converge at opposite vanishing points to hone in on the camera location. I eyed this camera into location, but am a little unsatisfied with the placement, although its the best i was able to achieve. I agree with the reflections. i should have taken a photo of the opposite side of the street and used that as a reflection. all in all i think the client will be happy.... its a run down theater in hartford ct. the inside is deplorable, but interesting. been vacant for about 30 years. i built the model using photographs and counting bricks. Need to express to the historical society what the exterior will look like with windows punched through the original back wall of the theater. eoghan
if you go to file-info and exif information in photoshop it should give you yuor appeture widths and focal lengths etc.
mskin
thats pretty interesting. thanks for the info. why does it say my focal length is 5.5 when i think its closer to 34-38 mm. Im admittedly not a photo expert but im looking to match the focal length in 3d max to that of the photo. thanks
eoghan
thats strange. its usally bang on. i usually shoot 50 mil and it always comes up as 50. maybe your looking at the wrong setting-f stop or something- thats all i can think of!
