joseph alexander
This is a project I've been working Sundays on with an artist friend of mine in New York. She's trying to get a grant for this installation at the 2006 Burning Man festival. It's definitely a break from corporate architecture. Rendering and Shop drawings.. Everything in Rhino. -Joe

joseph alexander
I actually had to photoshop them out of the background image I used for the rendering... You can see the smear streaks if you look carefully. -joe

Joe did you get the project made for Burning Man? yes you can see one in the corner of the screen (it was done in 3ds4). Old man GLoom I looked it up on wikipedia it is about a slaughter of indians?? hmm I wonder what that means as far as the message of burning away old spirits and starting new? I doubt they are celibrating genocide when we go to watch Zozobra or that people even know/remember. that burning man structure i would be afraid if there was High winds.. what is the sheer stress on those pins? Sawyer
I am from Santa Fe. We were told the Fiesta celebrated the "peacful reconquering of the Indians" Bacsically the line we were fed in school was that the indians were so miserable once the Spaniards left that they welcomed them back when de Vargas came. - sigh However Zozobra is just about burning the accumilated gloom from the last year. Pagan ritual like. It was created in the 20s or 30s as an event and they have been burning him ever since just throwing it into the Fiesta weekend for good measure. Growing up it was really magical. All of a sudden there is a 50 foot puppet on the filed and one night fireworks go off and people start screaming "Burn him", "burn the M@#@$% F$%$&*". And then normal life resumes.
