still frame
I'm in school. Using Rhino, maya, illustrator, photoshop, cad, etc. SOmetimes several at the same time. I am considering a desk top, but ideally a laptop. I don't care about weight or battery life. Just power and a good machine, and a good graphics card. oh, and a good warranty. Someone just recommended the Dell Precision. Any thoughts? Much appreciated

tcupp
From my experience, as a student, I have had awesome luck with Dell, especially if you want A) a laptop and B) good service. Here is why, I purchased a top of the line $3000 laptop from them almost four years ago. Had a few problems with it but they fixed everything in a timely manner. About 8 months ago I totally demolished it when I dropped my bag down a flight of stairs (long story, dont ask). I thought I would be dropping another $3000 on a new laptop but I had "Completer Care." They had me send it in and about a week later they called and said my laptop would be replaced...so I figured I would get some refurbished pile that was similar to my old one. But to my surprise about a three days later I had a brand new laptop from their new line of Inspirons. So, with performance issues aside (which I know nothing about) I would recommend Dell over any other laptop supplier. Hope that helps!!!!
