CVC
To keep your quadro always optimize with 3ds max ( For Quadro user only) http://www.nvidia.com/object/maxtreme_8.00.03.html
AJLynn
Since 7 works for me I'm reluctant to upgrade. Can anybody give me a quick run down of improvements and whether it's stable? (My Quadros are Quadro4s.)
Brian Cassil
I don't believe there are any improvments except, that the configuration window can now be accessed. Which to me was very important. Also, it seems to be very stable.
Hazdaz
AJLYNN - what release of 3DS MAX are you using? I couldn't get MAXtreme 7 to work with MAX 8 (atleast without "issues"), but with this new release (which I have been using for like a month now), it works fine. No issues at all really. Runs only a little bit faster compared to regular D3D though, but any speed increase, I'll take it. . Obviously there might be issues on other systems, but I have no reason not to recommend it. AJLynn
It's whatever the last Maxtreme 7 release was, running on normal Max 8 and now Max 8 SP1, it worked fine with my Quadro4 and I have some friends using it with QuadroFX 1400 mobiles. And I don't like D3D because the triangulated polys in the display annoy me
Hazdaz
Well not sure how closely related the QuadroFX 1400 mobile is to the desktop Quadro FX1000 (which is what I have), but OGL would always run slowest of the different hardware settings. Enough of a difference that I never bothered with it. MAX seems to be the only 3D app that actually prefers D3D, instead of OGL - atleat from everythign I have ever read. AJLynn
Yeah, D3D can be fast these days (a lot better than it used to be) but I just can't get over the triangles I need to see the real mesh. And I hate triangles.
jonel
u can turn off those triangles in dX mode, u know?
AJLynn
I never saw that. Guess I must have hated the triangles so much I killed D3D immediately without thinking about them. But I still like Maxtreme.
