onewolf
hi everyone, my costumer has given me a photo from internet of ineterior scene. He wants me to make the same scene in 3d. Now the cg image looks very similar to the photo. My question is if i can get any copyright-problems with the photographer or the architect. thanks for your help

NOOXY
yeah man your clients the one who sourced the image for you who just have to reproduce,,but in all seriousness.. if u replicate an image from a magazine or use an art piece from the internet are u stepping on any copyright laws?? Iain Denby
I think copying something in it's self isn't infringing on copyright, but what you do with it once copied is very important. If you pass it off as your design for example, then you could be in trouble.
Tim Saunders
You're not selling the design are you? If so maybe you are infringing on copyright. If you are doing the rendering just for a piece of art, then maybe. Here's a short thread http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11918&highlight=copyright
