getting rid of vray pop up when loading scene

I have a scene that was partially created off site and given to us to finish up. I don't use vray, so how do I get rid of of the materials that were assigned to the object or objects.. its a pretty massive file, so I am not sure where to begin and the other party doesn't remember setting up anything with vray..

 

What should I do?

from your materials editor... click on the material library button.

 

on the left side switch your options from library to scene

 

you now have a list of all the materials used in your scene. if you double click on any of the materials in the list it will put it into the active slot in your material editor. At which point you can reassign that material how ever you want. In your case.... you'd be taking it off of a vray material and going to standard, architectural, etc... whatever you want.
