chow choppe
hi ppl I am rendering a walkthrough and i have few questions regarding that. 1.) It is to be projected on a screen...what resolution and size of the frame should i take for that so that it plays nicely on the scree 2.) how many fps should i consider so that the animation runs smoothly on most of the computers 3.)what GI type should i use if i plan to render it with vray ... i mean qmc, iirr map, or lightcache etc...... 4.) it is a housing society so how can i reduce the polycount by not copying the block again and again.( to make the file lighter to work on)..with standard max or vray . 5.) for trees what should i use.(rpc, 3d tres etc etc)..so that frames render faster. 6.)are there any links which can teach me in a better way ...I mean links like..."renderng an animation with vray" or rendering with max scanline" thanks And sorry for 2 many questions But i need to know all this before going further
anvaraziz
y cant u outsource that project if u dont know 3dmax ? just kiddding,,,hi hi hey man ur asking a lot of ques even the ABCD of media.. r u going to render it using Vray ? how many machines u have to finish ur job ? render ur output as image sequnces with 720 by 480 ,,, use 25 FPS, for trees and all,, if ur going to use vray, RPC ll not work with Vray ,, u need to turn it off while doing pre pass, for exterior walkarounds max scanline ll do it,, dont play with vray if ur new to it,,, first study 3dmax well,,, then use andvanced renders like vray and all... keep going
chow choppe
hi anvar thanks fo rthe tips. yes even i was thinking that i am trying to ask ABCD. i am not new to Vray...but haven't done any animation with it....actually i was never confident about it as i don't have good resources.i can max arrange 2 good PC's so i never tried vray because i was not confident that whether i would be able to complete it on time. even i was thinking to render in Scanline.but i don't like the lighting in scanline thats why i was trying to use vray ... thats why so many questions. thanks a lot
Supreme Pizza
In response to your question 4 assign layers to your scene and unhide only what is in your POV. Should make it easier to set your camera path without jumping around so much. Also set your trees, small objects etc. on seperate layers. Just get rid of any "extra" geometry you won't need till the final render.
Crazy Homeless Guy
i would highly recommend sticking to PAL or NTSC standards when determining frame resolution, and frames per second. it will give you more flexibility in the long run. any tree that the camera does not come close to should be a 2d plane.
