Thinking about buying something like this to run

Cinema 4D.. What you guys think? Adequate?

That looks good except for the video card - the 540 isn't very good. If that's what the budget is, you're probably better off with a good gamer card.

i suggest running it with xp64 rather than xp only..cinema4d i think is 64bit ready...you'll get the most of your ram when 64 bit os is used.

i have 2 dual processor systems, 1 is a dual xeon 2.4's with HT running 32bit windows and the other is a dual opteron 275 dual cores running xp64...opterons has a clock speed of 2.0 ghz...but its 64bit already so it renders much faster compared to supposedly a faster xeon runnning at 2.4ghz(its even overclocked to 2.6 ghz)...

I don't think the Xeon 2.4 is even "supposedly faster" - you can't compare closk speeds of Intels and AMDs. I'd say multiply the AMD by 1.5 but that's not even consistent - the cache size also affects the equivalency rating.

...for me cinebench ran 30% faster when using the 64 bit version. i would assume that would translate to cinema 4d. also, if you go 64 bit, you will need the 64 bit version of cinema. the 32 bit version runs about the same speed regardless of whether the operating system is 32 bit or 64 bit.
