Dollhouse Studio
I render my night scenes, as if I were placing the real lights. I use spot directionals almost everywhere, I even simulate the parking lights with a spots at each head location on site poles pointing down. I use spots as uplighters at the building base too. tweak the distances and it worked out pretty good. I have an example at http://www.dollhousestudio.com/r32.html Hope I could help in some way. luckytohaveher
Just make sure you hard attenuate all the spots that are used for highlights, small locations. It can save a ton of time. Good luck!
