dpn
Hello, I am creating an educational animation sequence and would like to know how to streamline the process. During this sequence, I have to plant about fifty plants, and then these plants have to grow, and bloom. I have the sequence figured out for my first plant. Is there a way to copy the sequence of animation for this plant to all of the plants, instead of me having to position, scale and move every single plant? What is the term I should use to guide me in the reference section of Max 7? Any insight would save me hours!!!! Thanks
BrianKitts
haven't done much object animation lately but since your post hasn't gotten any answers, I'll give it a shot..... are all the plants similar enough that you could link all the plants to a dummy object and then apply the tranformations to the single dummy object? That way once you set it for the dummy it will apply to all other objects?
Nils Norgren
Look into the "Mesher" object, it is a special instance that allows for animation offset. -Nils
dpn
I might have complicated this but, i had to use specific plants, so i created them using RPC Creator. Each plant is composed of 2 RPC's one for the flower, and one for the plant leaf. The sequence shows the leaf part being planted, and growing, and then the flower blooms. I achevied all of this by animating the scale of the objects to show growth. I was hoping i could copy the key frames and apply them to the other RPCs. I used RPC because the plants look great, and i am familiar with their software. Thanks for the ideas, and let me know if you have a few more!! dpn
