Lighting problem.

Hello evryone,

Im doing an external night shot in vray. On the front of the building there are some light fittings. I have modellede one, with an omni just a bit in front of it. I have instanced it about 20 times. As you can see from the test render I am getting some bizzare diagonal cut-off in the light. It happens if I change the materials, turn off the shadows, whatever I do. There is no geometry in the way. If anyone has any ideas id be most happy.

Thanks Tom.

Well i got round it using a vray light material instead. Would still like to know what the problem was tho.

One parameterwhich altered the results, was which way up the omnis were! i thought they just shot out light evenly in all directions....

Thanks for the offer. Its a big scene and i am a bit too busy at the mo. Im learning about vray light mat, which ive never used before, so thats good. I dont suppose you know how to increaes the sample rat of an object with vraylightmtl applied to it do you? Im not sure which settings would change its qualities. I want to increase decrease the light decay, but not globally.

Rgds,

Tom.
